We transformed an early 1900’s miners house into a spacious 2500 square foot modern home. The angled rooflines preserve the Old Town Louisville charm on the outside, while custom wood dividing beams gave the feel of a modern, open floor plan on the inside. Expansive soapstone countertops were wrapped around from the kitchen into a built-in dining room seating area along with a 3-sided fireplace to allow viewing from 3 areas of house.

Silver Contracting added a second story addition (3 bedroom, 2 bath) to our one-story house which included reinforcing the foundation for a staircase. The mix of demolition, new construction, and remodeling made the project more complex than most, but we feel very fortunate that we selected Silver contracting for the work. They stayed on budget, they communicated well with our architect, and easily accommodated last minute changes. The quality of work was excellent, including the trim and cabinetry. Overall it was a very good experience and we would not hesitate to recommend Silver Contracting for either new construction or remodeling.
