Elliott

Owner and General Contractor

In 1986, at age 16, Elliott began his career in construction. He worked for a father-son construction company in Pennsylvania where he was taught carpentry along with the old-school traditions and values of impeccable quality, honesty, and craftmanship. He brings all those qualities to his business today.

In 1990, he moved to Colorado, where he worked as a carpenter in the Boulder/Denver area. In 2001, he expanded his business and founded Silver Contracting. Since then, Silver Contracting has enjoyed consistent growth in both sales and scope of work. For the last ten years, Silver Contracting has specialized in custom home building and large-scale renovations.

Silver Contracting’s tagline “Experience IS the Difference” is exemplified in Elliott’s nearly 40 years in the business of building. He has an unparalleled knowledge of all phases of construction from start to finish. He has a comprehensive working understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing phases of building and a broad technical understanding of the engineering and structural components as well.

When it comes to the ever-changing, modern building codes and land use regulations, Elliott is an expert. From the new, non-combustible building codes required for building in potential wildfire areas, to the new green energy codes, he has it covered.

Elliott takes a collaborative approach to all his projects. He really enjoys the interaction between architects, engineers, subcontractors, and homeowners and uses this approach to determine the most efficient and cost-effective ways to build his projects.

Personally, Elliott has lived in Lafayette with his wife Laurie and son Ty for 23 years and counting. He is very involved in the local community and has completed many projects for the city of Lafayette.

He is a huge sports enthusiast and plays in a local hockey league. He has been a volunteer basketball and flag football coach for his son’s many sports teams for over 15 years. He has notably coached his teams to two trips to the NFL Pro Bowl Tournament and has enjoyed multiple interactions with the Denver Broncos and Colorado Buffalo teams.

Mostly, he loves all things Colorado!

Amber

Amber

Project Management and Kitchen Design

Amber was born and raised in the Boulder area and graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Business Administration. She’s used her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate multiple pieces of a project to run her own companies and manage projects in a variety of industries, including software storage, real estate, corporate and private event planning, and fundraising work for NFL charities and 501(c)3 non-profit organizations.

In 2017, she joined the Silver Contracting team, managing the administration, budgets, and design coordination of residential and commercial building projects. She also plays a key role on the operations side of the business and has expanded the company’s ability to provide customers with an efficient and streamlined experience through a multitude of design services and software programs. These allow the company to keep track of deadlines, materials, schedules, and important construction-related documents.

As the in-house kitchen designer, she works with customers to create spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, helping homeowners visualize how each material decision will come together to create a customized space that will become the central hub for their home.

Her goal with every project is to create an open line of communication that ensures all parties involved understand what’s going on at any given point in time, and that they have a responsive party to answer questions and address concerns in a way that is comfortable for each customer.

She’s dedicated to the local community, working on projects that help advance the enjoyment and livability of the area such as starting the Brew-Pub-Run Club at Odd13 Brewery, a Movies-in-the-Park series that was adopted by the City of Lafayette and still continues today, and volunteering for the Boulder Homeless Shelter women’s program which seeks to alleviate the stress resulting from experiences unique to women living on the street.

Laurie is happy to call Colorado home and is an outdoor enthusiast. In her spare time, you can find her at a local reservoir on her paddleboard or camping in the beautiful mountains. Laurie has resided in Colorado for nearly 30 years and lives in Lafayette with her husband of 20 years (Elliott) and her 18-year-old son Ty, who is currently following in her footsteps as a Colorado Buffalo!

Ty

Carpenter's Assistant

Ty is a Colorado native who has lived in Lafayette his entire life. In 2023, he graduated from Centaurus High School and is currently pursuing a business degree at the University of Colorado Boulder.

In 2021, Ty joined the Silver Contracting team as a laborer and has moved his way up to a carpenter’s assistant. Like his father, Ty has a passion for construction and loves both the hands-on-building and project management aspects of the business.

In the summer of 2023, Ty started BoCo Demo, a demo/handyman business where, in addition to his work at Silver Contracting, he does demolition projects and general handyman services.

Ty is an avid outdoorsman and loves hiking, camping, snowboarding, and wakeboarding. He is also an accomplished athlete and has played on basketball and flag football teams from 2nd grade all the way through varsity level in high school.

Most notably his flag football team won the state championships twice and was invited by the NFL to play in two different Pro Bowl Tournaments. His team has also received special recognition on the sidelines of Denver Bronco and Colorado Buffalo games.

In his spare time, you can still find Ty playing hoops on a basketball court somewhere or enjoying the Colorado mountains.
